Permissions
What each macOS permission unlocks, and how to grant it.
Overview
Orbix asks for each permission the first time a feature needs it, and a card at the top of the panel lists anything still missing, with an Allow… button.
| Permission | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Accessibility | Window titles and the document in front, selected text (⌥ ⇧ Space), arranging windows, clicking and typing in apps. |
| Screen Recording | Screen text in memory, “look at my screen”, and the call's audio in meeting notes. |
| Automation | Asking Finder, Safari/Chrome, Mail, Notes, Music and System Events for information or to act. macOS asks once per app. |
| Calendars, Reminders, Contacts | Your schedule, reminders, meeting briefs and the people feature. |
| Microphone & Speech Recognition | Voice input and meeting notes. |
| Files & Folders | Noticing new files in Downloads, Desktop and Documents. |
Screen Recording needs a restart
macOS applies Screen Recording only when an app starts. After switching it on, click Restart Orbix on the permissions card.
Changing your mind
Every permission can be turned off in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Orbix keeps working without them; the features that need them tell you so.
