An assistant that remembers your screen has to be trustworthy. Here's exactly what Orbix keeps, what it shares, and what it never touches.

Your memory stays on your Mac.

Stored locally. Activity, screen text, clipboard and file history are kept in ~/Library/Application Support/Orbix, readable only by your macOS account.

Text, never images. Screen text is read on your Mac with Apple's Vision. Only the text is kept, and only what changed.

No server, no account. Nothing is uploaded or synced. Orbix has no servers and doesn't ask you to sign up.

Only what's needed goes to your AI.

Per question. When you ask something, Orbix sends your question, the app and window in front, your last 20 minutes of activity, and the memories or files it looks up — to the engine you chose.

Their terms apply. The AI service you use handles what it receives under its own privacy terms. With Ollama, nothing leaves your Mac at all.

Your call. Click × on the app chip to stop sharing what's in front. API keys stay in your Mac's Keychain; your Claude or ChatGPT login stays with Claude Code or Codex.

Some things are never recorded.

Passwords. Password managers (1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, Dashlane, KeePassXC, Apple Passwords, Keychain Access) are excluded, and nothing is read while a password field is focused.

Private windows. Incognito windows in Chrome-based browsers, a locked screen, and Orbix itself.

Secrets you copy. Clipboard items that password managers mark as secret are skipped.

You're in control.

Pause. Stop memory with one click. A dot on the menu-bar icon shows when it's recording.

Exclude and choose. Exclude any app. Turn off screen text, clipboard or file tracking separately.

Forget. Forget the last hour, today, or one app — or delete everything. Keep memories for a week, a month, three months (the default), a year, or forever.

It asks. And it can undo.

Asks first. Anything that moves, renames, sends, quits or runs something shows you first and waits for your OK.

Never on its own. Orbix never deletes permanently and never sends email or messages for you.

Undo. Trash moves, renames and new files can be put back — even after a restart.

Good to know: the memory file isn't separately encrypted, so anyone signed in to your Mac as you can read it. Turn on FileVault to protect it when your Mac is off.
